Ingredients
Colostrum: is a bovine foremilk secreted by the mammary glands. It is produced during the last stages of pregnancy and precedes true milk secretion. It is a light yellow, highly caloric liquid and has high protein content, antibodies, lymphocytes, macrophages, and nutrients. Due to the presence of numerous components having great protective power, colostrum is an immunological nutrient; it represents the natural extension of maternal protection in the early days of extrauterine life.
Lactase: an enzyme that promotes the digestion of lactose, breaking it down into glucose and galactose. A partial or total lactase deficiency is responsible for one of the most common forms of food intolerance, which manifests itself as intestinal swelling and diarrhea. In adulthood, one’s capacity to digest lactose can be high, average, or considerably reduced: if this capacity diminishes, it can lead to an acquired intolerance.
Temporary deficits in lactase activity also occur as a result of diseases or conditions that damage the intestinal mucosa, such as viral gastroenteritis and celiac disease. Even eschewing milk for long periods of time can make the body “forget” how to produce this enzyme and vice versa. Lactase is, in fact, an inducible enzyme.
